Poké Perfect was founded by siblings Quinta and Gerrit Jan Witzel - and it's still run that way today. They grew up together in Nieuw-Vennep, and after school went their separate ways: Gerrit Jan to business school in Amsterdam, Quinta to New York to model.
Without a kitchen in her New York apartment, Quinta ate out every day. What surprised her wasn't the necessity - it was the quality. Fresh salad bars, neighbourhood delis, great food that was fast, healthy, and actually built for real life. When she came back to the Netherlands, she noticed its absence straight away.
She called her brother. He saw the same gap. In 2016, Poké Perfect opened its first location.
A year later their sister Anna joined the team. After her bachelor in Hospitality Management she worked, amongst others, at the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. She witnessed up close how much work it was and how busy Quinta and Gerrit Jan were, and wanted to get on board and do it together. Her hospitality training was the perfect fit. The three of them are still working together today.
Three things we built the company on - and still won't compromise on.
Daily fresh ingredients. We keep it simple: good ingredients, handled with care.
We choose suppliers who share our values: preferably local, quality is key, and ingredients that haven't been sitting in a warehouse for a week.
Fish, meat, vegan, vegetarian, halal - our menu was built so we can cater to anyone.
Poké (pronounced poh-kay) is a traditional Hawaiian dish: fresh fish - typically tuna or salmon - seasoned and served on a bed of sushi rice. Think sushi, but in a bowl - and with a lot more room to play.
Not into raw fish? No problem. From warm teriyaki chicken to crispy tempeh and vegan salmon - on our menu there's a bowl for everyone.
